My students need seat sacks to be organized. The students sit at tables in small groups rather than desks. With seat sacks, they will always have a book to read, pencils, crayons and other supplies.
Public School 130 is a diverse multicultural community dedicated to excellence. Through a rigorous curriculum, every teacher works to nurture the talents and abilities of each student. Opportunities are provided for each student to develop academic mastery, artistic and leadership capacities Together with the students, parents and members of the community a united, caring and compassionate atmosphere is promoted. My third grade students work on two major studies. They learn about the building of the Brooklyn Bridge and Ancient China.
My Project
Using Seat sacks will help every child to always have a book on hand to read. We do not have desks where students can store materials. Instead the students sit in small groups at tables. They need to get up to obtain books and supplies that are stored on shelves in the room.
Seat sacks will make it possible to store the most used supplies such as notebooks, pencils, crayons, glue sticks and most importantly one or two books to read.
My students love to read. Having seat sacks will encourage this, and help us maximize our time learning together. Thank you!
