This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have desks in my kindergarten classroom that do not have storage understand. My students' materials are usually placed in seat sacks or in baskets that are on the table.

My seat sacks have seen better days and I am asking for a set of new ones to replace the set that has ripped.

I did a proposal for seat-sacks 2 years ago from DonorsChoose and I got them with this community's generosity. I was expecting them to last a while. Unfortunately, they did not. I have numerous rips at the seams this year alone. I fix them with staples and duct tape, hoping they can last till the end of the school year before they go in the garbage in June. I guess I knew what I was getting into when I saw that they were not made out of cotton.

The ones that I am ordering now are made out of cotton and hopefully, they can last a good 6 to 8 years before they need replacing again. Students put their books in their and other materials that they may need.
