My Students
Our school is a dual language school dedicated to bridging the Deaf and hearing communities in New York City. Our PK-8th grade students come from every borough of NYC. The majority are Children of Deaf Adults (CODAs). We offer the LEAST RESTRICTIVE environment for Deaf students in the NYC DOE.
Our Reggio-Emilia inspired Pre-K program was established more than two decades ago, and our master teachers guide our youngest students to become emotionally-responsive observers of themselves, the world, and others.
My Project
Seat sacks will help solve our classroom need for storage. Our class works at tables rather than desks, which is great for communication and collaborative work, but provides an ongoing challenge for finding places to store students’ books, belongings, and other classroom material.
These seat sacks would give students easy access to their books and improve classroom management.
With these seat sacks, students will no longer have to leave their desks or meander around the room in search of what they need to be prepared for the next subject. Additionally, since the seat sacks go on the backs of the chairs, they help free up much needed classroom space and help keep tables free of clutter.
