This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The scholars at our school are hard workers at an urban, inner-city school. Most of my scholars free breakfast and lunch. More than half of my students come from families where English is not the first language, and in many cases, school is their only exposure to English and/or learning math and reading skills. The mission of our school is to provide a purpose-driven, culturally responsive learning environment that challenges scholars academically while supporting their social and emotional growth in order to develop conscientious citizens who transform their communities.

My Project

Due to covid, scholars will not be able to share materials. With the help of this seat sack, it will ensure that each scholar has their own space for their things. It will also help scholars keep their materials in their space and not mix their materials with their neighbors. There is only so much a desk can hold, so a seat sack would be very useful for the scholars. I want to create a classroom where scholars feel important and valued. Your donation will help with that. Thank you!
