This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My diverse group of 4th-grade students are amazing! They are smart, talented, funny, curious, and creative learners. They love to ask questions and actively seek solutions to problems. My students are becoming bi-literate citizens in their community as they are learning to read, write, listen, and speak successfully in both Spanish and English. It is incredible see them grow in all their skills.

They are so talented and their abilities, in all areas, are being nurtured throughout their rigorous educational experiences in our 4th grade dual immersion program.

My Project

Help support my students' learning and success by giving them seat sacks that would provide an inspiring, clean, and organized classroom learning space with space for storage for each student. Year after year, students will have convenient, personal, and out-of-the-way storage to keep them organized, safe, and focused.

Currently, students have limited storage space, so would benefit from having additional storage, where they could keep their pencils boxes, iPads, and folders to eliminate clutter and also keep them safe.

By keeping their supplies off the tops of desks or on the floor, we'd eliminate the risk of having students trip over them and injuring themselves. In addition, the reduced clutter on top of their seats would provide them with more space to work and help them pay attention to the tasks at hand.

Organization is a key to be successful in fourth grade. Students need to be able to quickly access their materials throughout the school day. Having the seat sacks hanging on the back of theirs would help make accessing tools quickly, and efficiently. Students will experience less stress and be happy to have a learning space free of clutter.
