My Students
My students lack the support from our community and need additional support so they can continue to find success.
My students are attending a specialized school in NYC, which is a special education school.
They all have various disabilities which prohibit them from functioning in a regular school. Disabilities range from autism to emotional disturbed. My students crave attention and love to be loved and appreciated. They just want to be treated the way all other students are treated.
My Project
Our current seat sacks have been in my class for years and are essentially destroyed, ripped, and dirty. We try to hold them together by sewing them or just stapling them so student notebooks aren't all over the floor. If we are able to get new seat sacks, my students would be so happy and they would be able to keep all there school materials behind them and have easy access to their things. This will make transition time smoother and they will have ownership of something.
