This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The library is the heart of our school, Helen Keller Elementary! Pre-K-6th grade students gather here to choose books, read, book talk, and collaborate. To do so students need flexible, comfortable seating. COVID-19 caused a pause in the ability to check books out of the library and take them home to read AND to book talk about authors or books due to social distancing.
"The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." Dr. Seuss.
Flexible seating will allow our students a place to read comfortably, to relax when times are tough and escape into their imagination.
"More than at any other time, when I hold a beloved book in my hand my limitations fall from me, my spirit is free." Helen Keller
