Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school scored over 800 on the API. Our new goal is to reach 850 this school year and books will give the children the opportunity to practice the Language Arts skills taught.
We are a small school with a cohesive staff that works diligently with the students.
We've lost amazing teachers these last 3 years due to the state's drastic cutbacks, but continue to believe that every child can and will learn before they leave the gates of our school.
My Project
My ultimate goal is to earn enough points to travel to the Marine Aquarium in our city. Some of my students have never been to the beach even though it is only a 25 minute drive. I hope to give the second grade students to visit the beach, touch the sand, see dolphins swimming off shore, and observe sea animals in their habitats. By reading the books I selected in this request about the seashore, natural habitats, and the environment; the children can begin their learning before they even step foot on the bus.
Thank you for taking the time to read and consider donating to this project.
I try to be the type of teacher that I want my own children to have and with your funding, they will be given those types of opportunities.
