Help me give my students some new STEM activities for them to use during center time. These Design & Build Engineering Centers are perfect for helping my kindergartners explore and create structures.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have been teaching kindergarten 25 years. My kindergarten students are a lovable group who are eager to learn. I can see their love for learning when they are introduced to new concepts and provided opportunities to explore. I am hoping I can continue helping them on their educational journey and support their love for learning by providing them with many different resources that allow them the freedom to discover things on their own. I want to try to find resources that support what I am teaching the students and that keep the students interested and engaged in what they are learning. Participating in DonorsChoose.org is allowing me to find resources to help these eager learners. I appreciate this opportunity and hope that my students will continue to benefit from all DonorsChoose.org has to offer. I am looking forward to learning more about this wonderful organization and hope these resources will help my students' love for learning to continue to grow.
My Project
I would love for my students to be able to use these STEM materials to help them build and create structures. These centers are designed for the students to work independently or with other students to explore, create and problem solve.
My students start their day off working in small groups that are centered around STEM activities that allow them to explore, create and problem solve, which makes them excited to come to school.
Kindergarten has changed throughout the years, and the focus of learning through play needs to be brought back into the classroom. When the students are given the proper materials to explore, create and problem solve with, they are able to play and learn from their own choices and their classmates. I would love to use the Design & Build Engineering Centers, Roll & Race! Activity Ramp and the Young Architects Design Blocks in my morning center time to aid in my students' creativity, problem solving skills and working with others to reach a goal.
