This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These supplies will help teach my 8th graders about teamwork and site-specific installation art. Students will work together in teams to create a tape person sculpture in a pose relevant to where they will install their art (ex: tape sculpture sitting with a book in the library).

This project is all about teamwork.

They will have to work together to decide on a pose, assign team roles, and see the project through together from ideation to installation. One student will pose for the group. The saran wrap will go around that student, one section at a time, and the other teammates will use this as a mold to wrap packing tape around twice to strengthen the sculpture. They will work with me to install this in their chosen location with the help of the fishing wire, where it will remain for the remainder of the year and beyond!
