I teach a general education kindergarten class that is comprised of students of all capabilities. Many of my students come from families who are new to the country; therefore, they are learning the English language. I also have some students who require special services. My students come from varied backgrounds with different economic needs.
I am excited that my boys and girls are reading and writing.
Many of them are reading at a second-grade level, and I am very proud of them for that. They come to school every day eager to learn.
My Project
I am looking to gain a new clean classroom rug for my students. The rug that we have now is covered in stains from past nosebleeds, vomit and bathroom incidents. Even though we vacuum the rug on a daily increment and clean when needed, the wear and tear has taken its tool and the rug looks unhygienic. We spend a lot of time together as a group on the rug therefore I want my classroom to have a clean universal gathering spot, where every student has a place and is comfortable and excited to learn. We have a large class of 25 students and this rug will give us a gathering spot that includes everyone, so we can come together to read, learn, and build our community! Help make our classroom a clean and happy place to learn!
