Our school is a high need, low socioeconomic, Title I school. The students come to school from various backgrounds and receive free breakfast and lunch. They are smart, amazing children who enjoy learning. Our goal is not only to teach these amazing children, but it is also our job to keep them safe in the unstable world we live in today.
Our students enjoy coming to school every day, where they can learn to become critical thinkers, leaders, and collaborative learners in a safe environment.
We have a diverse community of dedicated teachers who will do anything to see that our students succeed. This project is a way to engage parents in their child's education.
My Project
Our students will create an Art Bot as a fun way to learn the basics of creating a simple circuit with a switch. They will use recycled materials as the robot body and connect the battery and motor to move around in unpredictable ways.
This Scribble Bot will incorporate the Art in our students' STEAM education program.
They will create a one of a kind artwork while also learning about circuitry in our Marker Space as well. When these robots are built by our older students, they can be paired with our younger students to teach them how circuits work in a fun, artistic way.
