My Students
The pre-kindergarten classrooms at our elementary school currently serve 60 students and their families from neighborhoods throughout the city of Pittsburgh. Our students are three to five years old and represent the diverse population of our city, including many English-language learners and students with special needs. The majority of our students meet Federal income requirements for Head Start, meaning that a family of three has a maximum annual income of just over $20,000.
For many of our students, our classrooms are their first experience away from home and in a school setting.
Our students are just beginning their educational journeys, and it is our goal to make learning exciting, fun, and engaging. They are curious and love exploring their environment and the world around them. It is our job to provide what they need to facilitate their learning and growth.

My Project
In our classroom we use many educational videos when we do our daily learning, remote virtual days, and on our hybrid learning days. Our room is in desperate need for a pull down projector screen.
Our classroom is very small, so having a screen that pulls up and goes away would be extremely helpful.
Currently we have been using our window blinds, or large sheets of paper, or even bedsheets. But everything is very time consuming to set up and tear down in a PreK classroom with lots of small hands try to help!
