Help me give my students a chance to learn with non-digital items. The workbooks and math manipulative will give my students hands activities and opportunities
As Of March 17, 2020, my diverse learners class was abruptly interrupted by COVID-19. My class is globally diverse in their cultures, income status and learning needs. The families are living with limited access to some of the basic essential to provide for their families. Parents are also challenged with supporting their children's academic learning remotely because of lack of access to technology.
Students have limited access to their curriculum digitally.
However, parents are overwhelmed with their children's ability levels and technology skill set. They are requesting non-digital materials so they can work with their children at home.
My Project
Please give my Diverse Learner Students access to hands on learning. The abrupt interruption for my students has impacted the routines they are accustom too. My students have diverse learning needs. Computer driven activities have posed challenges for students and parents in areas of access to technology and skills for navigating the platforms.
The items I have selected will be put into a packet and delivered to each student.
The math manipulative kits will be used to reinforce face time math lessons that target their math goals. The tools in the kit can be used for differentiating skills for each learners individualized needs. The workbooks will reinforce language Arts goals that address comprehension, sight word recognition and social emotional learning. Each workbook will reinforce target goals and skills.
Technology is challenging for my students and they have demonstrated that hands on activities are more suitable for their engagement in learning. They will have opportunities to take time outs from excessive screen time and practice skills.
