The students in my classroom come to school ready to engage in hands on activities. My students are diverse learners that have multi-sensory learning styles. I have students that are non-verbal and have sensory challenges and they each have their own unique learning needs. Most of my students have independent functioning goals. When they are able to complete a task, we celebrate their accomplishments.
The COVID 19 school closures have dramatically impacted my students learning. They have been challenged by a change in daily routines, to casting more challenges for their parents to keep them engaged in learning. The materials I have selected to send parents will enhance their child's ongoing learning. Parents will be better equipped with these materials and they won't have to try and keep them focused on a screen to learn.
