Help me give my students access to a class laptop that will help them complete research projects, type assignments, and learn how to master powerpoint.
My students amaze me at their level of intrigue each day. They absolutely love mentally engaging projects and challenges that allow them to use their specific talents to come to a conclusion! They come to school each day ready to conquer all challenges given to them and they take advantage of any changes they have to grow educationally and personally. They are constantly inspiring my to be a better teacher!
Students in my classroom have a wide variety of learning strategies.
They may gather answers differently and draw many different conclusions. Our school incorporates a variety of learning strategies, group work and differentiated learning opportunities to ensure that each student's needs and goals are met each and everyday.
My Project
These laptops will make accessing techonology in the classroom at the students finger tips. We use laptops not only to access the internet to do research, but to also increase our students educational foundation. Some of our students struggle with understanding grade level material and these laptops will allow these students to use specific educational programs in the classroom instead of having to leave the room and go to our computer lab.
Research is something so many students do not know how to do effectively, these laptops will allow students to actively do research with teacher supervision.
This will insure that students are researching information that they can understand. Students will use this research in English Lanuage Arts, Reading, Science and Social Studies. They will use this research to write research papers. Students will also use these laptops to access station material such as QR coding, breakouts, and jeopardy.
Our school and community were greatly affected by Hurricane Harvery. We lost vital technological resources in the storm along with two weeks of much needed instructional time. When we returned it was like starting the school year over agian. Teachers had to relearn their students and students had to relearn the expectations of the teachers. Still, a year and a half later we are recovering but still lacking the technology that our struggling students so desperately need. These laptops would provide that technology.
