My Students
I have some really great kids this year. They are wonderful to work with and they are actually interested in learning! Most of them are from low economic status and over half receive free or reduced piece lunch. I love working with these students because they try so hard!
I want to teach my students a love of learning.
Learning shouldn't end when you go home for the day, but it continues for the rest of their lives. One way they can do that is through reading. I want to show some of my lower readers that reading can be worth it with the right book! This will give them ample opportunities to read a book they will love.
My Project
I have been teaching with Scope Magazine for the last five years. I love all the stories from it and every article that has ever been in the magazine. Scope also provides my students with great activities at a higher level than the other reading resource I have. Scope stretches them so they can achieve more.
Scope, more than any other resource, proves to my students that reading is fun!
Every single article in Scope is always fun and engaging to read. They always have high interest, current stories that my students cannot wait to dive into. Help me keep using Scope in my classroom!
