I am requesting new equipment for my gym so that my students will have a fresh start to the new school year. Many of my students do not have the opportunity to have new items often. I try my best to keep equipment new and in the best possible condition so that each student will look forward to coming to physical education class and participating.
My goal with the new sports bags, jump ropes, and scooters is to incorporate each item into an activity that will challenge students in an unconventional way.
Searching for new ways for each student to increase their activity levels. is something I like to lesson plan for. The items requested will be a great way to achieve this, as well as keep them engaged. The items such as the scooters and even the weighted ropes will provide challenges that will invite students to try harder.
The impact of the donated equipment will be undeniable. Beyond the immediate joy, it will foster a renewed sense of enthusiasm for physical activity. Hopefully, this new enthusiasm will spill over to work in their core classes and help them all start the new school year off right. My goal is for the children who once sat on the sidelines to now want to be actively engaged in more physical movement which will hopefully translate into great mental movement in the classroom.
