My Students

My students are in a Pre-K counts classroom located in a Magnet school in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. They range in age from three to five years old. They come from a wide variety of family and ethnic backgrounds and even neighborhoods. Many of them come from households with a low family income.

My students are very active, and learn through their play by exploring their environment.

We have created a classroom space that is student centered and encourages them to learn independently. My students are young and are learning about the world around them.

My Project

Young children like my preschoolers are working to build their large muscles through play. These scooters will help them with their large muscle coordination. Having access to gross motor equipment like this is essential for preschoolers physical development.

Riding scooters builds large muscles and encourages active play.

My students are building hand eye coordination skills by playing. Children are encouraged to be active for sixty minutes a day and these scooters will help aid this time. The importance of physical health and activity can't be ignored. Young children need to move their bodies to stimulate their minds for academic learning.
