Help me give my students some iconic fun with new scooters and equipment to play scooter basketball. My school has 7 scooters and each class has 20+ students. I hope to let them all have this experience!
Scooters and Basketball are 2 of my students' favorite pieces of Gym equipment and are used in numerous different ways to help create fun, engaging, and impactful lessons and units. Scooters can be used to help develop balance, core/leg strength, and endurance, and also create a fun environment that encourages exercise for lifelong physical fitness. Basketball is a sport that the kids in my school love, and they want to play all day every day.
Incorporating scooters and basketball into games that students can enjoy and have fun doing, while also learning about their cardiovascular system, muscular endurance, and physical strength.
Adding the correct amount of scooters into my students' physical education experience can be a game-changer! These positively influence various aspects of academic life. These important life skills learned through scooter basketball will help create individuals who enjoy exercise and want to continue to find fun ways to stay active.
When school is fun, students want to come. When they come to school they learn more and school becomes less difficult which leads to a more successful experience. I want to provide experiences that are fun, impactful, engaging, and most importantly, something they enjoy. From facilitating reliable attendance to promoting physical activity that enhances cognitive function, scooters can play a pivotal role in shaping a student's journey toward academic achievement and overall success. By providing an enjoyable new experience, scooters can enhance school attendance, ensuring students arrive punctually and consistently.
Lastly, scooters are iconic! Most adults when asked what they liked most about elementary PE, almost always say, "The scooters." My students don't get many of the same experiences others get and would love to be able to have something to look towards for years to come.
