This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom is bursting with curious minds and joyful hearts! This project will help us create a full pretend-play ice cream shop where my Pre-K students can explore rich opportunities for social-emotional development, vocabulary building, sensory exploration, and math concepts — all through meaningful play.

Through scooping, stacking, counting, and role-playing as ice cream shop owners and customers, my students will practice turn-taking, storytelling, expressive language, and fine motor skills.

Items like playdough, kinetic sand, wooden carts, and realistic pretend ice cream toys offer multi-sensory experiences that encourage communication, creativity, and problem-solving.

This ice cream center will not only delight them but also support kindergarten readiness through play-based learning — the kind of magic every early childhood classroom needs!
