My students are unable to use the listening center because the old CD players we have no longer work. They also need new science materials and equipment in order to make the science center more fun to explore! We want oil pastels so we don't get stuck using only crayons and markers for art all year.
I have 29 kindergarten students in my class that are just beginning school.
They are eager to explore and have new hands-on experiences! Our school is a small public elementary school that does not receive much funding to update materials in the classroom.
My Project
The science center in my classroom has not been too exciting over the past couple of years because we are lacking equipment and resources to make it more engaging. With the new science tools, science learning center boxes, and hands-on science book, I will be able to create an amazing science center where students will be able to further investigate core concepts independently.
In the listening center, I am constantly having to try to fix CD players or change batteries, etc. This interrupts learning time and is not an optimal experience. With the new MP3 players, my students will be able to pick out a book and access the mp3 file with ease. My early readers will be able to hear great examples of reading to help with their fluency and literacy skills!
Finally, crayons and markers can be boring. My students would be so excited to experience oil pastels, and it will give us a new medium to use as we explore different artists' work and types of art.
Without you, getting these supplies to make my classroom more engaging would not be possible because of our modest budget.
My students will love exploring new science concepts and listening to books on their new MP3 players. Ultimately, all of these things will make my classroom a much more interactive and engaging environment!
