Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are an amazing group of young adults! They are true student scientists and absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges! They come to school each day ready to learn and grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

I want to have a classroom where they feel safe, supported, and loved, so the only thing they need to focus on is their learning.

Many of my students have personal struggles and tragedies to deal with outside the classroom. School is a safe place for them, and the majority of students love being here!

Many of my students cannot afford basic supplies, let alone resources above the basics to enrich their learning experience. It is my role as their teacher to provide for them. They deserve the world and that's what I want to give them.

My Project

These books will enhance the research opportunities in the classroom that I strive to create. I want to create a library full of books on a range of Science topics allowing each student to have a chance to read about something they are interested in. I plan to work on research and writing skills in my classroom by having my students choose a Science topic and present to the class what they learned. These books will be the first resource they have to work on their project.

I believe it is important to have books in the classroom no matter the subject.

Providing opportunities for students to read will benefit them at any point in their life. These books will be used to increase the Science topics in the classroom library.
