Scientists in the Making: Stay Organized and Share Ideas!
My students need a document camera to help them follow along in class, and wooden mailboxes to give them a place to store their interactive science notebooks.
Our classroom is comprised of just over 100 students who come from many different backgrounds and cultures, and who speak many different languages. We are all put here together to learn from each other, as well as to enjoy and embrace the differences between us.
I have students from every part of the world including countries like China, Korea, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Congo, Egypt, France, Spain, Mexico, and Canada; and there are still more I am leaving out!
We all have different experiences and come from different backgrounds. I believe it is important to recognize these differences and to embrace them. It helps us all understand how many different kinds of people and cultures are present in our global community. I also believe that acknowledging these differences helps us grow ourselves.
In addition to having a culturally diverse classroom I also have a diverse set of students, in terms of ability and interest.
My Project
A huge part of science is sharing our ideas with others. A document camera will allow students to share their thoughts and ideas they put in their interactive notebooks with others in class. My students love to show off their hard work and help each other in the process! The document camera makes this a whole lot easier. It also allows students to share their ideas with the entire class rather than just a partner.
Organization is a huge issue we face in 6th grade and with your help we can conquer and move on to bigger and better challenges!
We use interactive notebooks for everything we do. Having a safe place to store them helps my 6th graders learn how to take meaningful notes and how to stay organized. This is a huge challenge for most of our students and without a safe place to store them in class, they often get misplaced and lost. Please help us reach our goals and stay organized!
