My students love to learn! Every day, they come to school ready to ask questions, explore new ideas, and do their best. Most of our students qualify for free lunch, so families are not able to provide the school with extra financial support.
Kindergartners learn best through hands-on, integrated experiences.
This is especially important for my students who are English Language Learners. They have to master academic concepts and a new language at the same time! It's important that these students have lots of time to practice their new language so they can share what they've learned.
My Project
My students are naturally curious about the world around them. These non-fiction books will open doors for them to explore areas previously unavailable to them. I am asking for multiple copies of Pre-Readers. These will provide students opportunities to explore their own interests independently. The multiple copies allow students to collaborate by reading and discussing books in small groups. Having classmates discuss their new knowledge will deepen their understanding of the topics.
Accessibility to engaging books is essential to nurturing developing scientists.
Science is constantly evolving and we need to continue updating our library to included current topics. I am asking for may life-cycle and physical science books to provide my students with up-to-date resources for changing science standards.
