Student come from a low socioeconomic background. 100% of students at this school and in my classroom receive free or reduced lunch. A large population of students don't have consistent housing which results in frequent absences and school transfers.
We are working on a plan to increase our parent participation but we still need help.
Our students need supplies that many of our parents can't afford and this puts my students at a disadvantage when it is time to complete class assignments.
My Project
My students need 40 new science journals for the new school year. This school year our county will be introducing new standards in science. My students love science and I want them to be able to express what we learn through writing.
Students learn by doing.
I want my students to be able to fluently write about the experiments that we conduct in class. The science journals help the students learn step by step how to express what they have learned in words and through drawings of their findings. The journals will help strengthen our writing skills as we practice when we write during science. Help us learn with a small donation to our project.
