My Students

Having a printer with nothing to connect to it so you can create projects is vastly overrated! My students are so excited about putting science into practice but have no way to produce their projects in written format so they can share with their community what they have discovered.

These students are 'everyone's child'-your neighbor, grandchild, child, or maybe that one who is so annoying that you want them to go away!

These children want to do just that-go away! Go away to discover the world, go to space, or even into the center of the earth and tell the world about it! These are inner city students who want a chance to do some of the things that other children do with technology and we just don't have it. We are a school of determined, energetic, and avid learners who want to get out of the book and into the practice of being citizen scientists.

My Project

My students need a class laptop, flash drives and chalk to create their projects for science fairs and presentations to community organizations. Part of that involves putting your process into print so that you can share what you have learned with others who might want to assist you in your quest for knowledge. We want to compete in science fairs and are unable to without having something that can be used to write papers and print them out. All students will be able to share this and even present their own PowerPoint projects to class and community which was previously saved on their flash drive. Not only will they be able to complete these projects, they will learn how to use PowerPoint, Excel and WORD because we actually have something to learn it on. They will be able to learn skills not otherwise available in our school: keyboarding, creating professional charts and graphs and feeling confident about their work being just as good as the suburban kids.

Having this computer will be such a joy to the students!

They really want to be able to create their projects and have a chance to do things that other students already do outside of the inner city. You can make a difference in these students' lives by helping us achieve this small thing. This is huge for us but such a small thing overall. Your donation will impact them for years to come as they will discover those around them do care about their plight.
