My Project

Our students are persistent problem solvers who work at learning new math concepts and tackling challenging tasks in class. They thrive in the collaborative learning environments we establish and come to class ready to take on whatever task we set. Despite the confidence we see daily, the end of year tests can make students nervous as they prepare to demonstrate everything they have learned that year.

The ability to practice skills in class using the same calculators they use for end of year testing helps bolster confidence and reduce nerves in students.

A lot of success in math comes down to the belief you can solve the problems so anything that builds confidence in students makes a significant impact on their persistence when faced with a challenge. By using the same calculator in class as the test, students know how to enter things such as fractions, negatives, exponents, etc. and then can focus on solving the problems instead!
