Scientific Calculators for Students Who Have Difficulty Doing Basic Calculations.
Help me give my students scientific calculators to use for classroom use in order to solve more tedious and large numerical problems that would take longer to solve by hand.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These calculators will be used for two lower level classes for students who have difficulty performing basic calculations. Having these calculators will enable students to perform basic integer operations, solve complex problems more efficiently, help reduce common errors done by hand, use various functions such as exponential, trigonometric, inverse, logarithmic, and scientific applications. Using these calculators is hands on allowing for student engagement. Students are also able to use the memory function to store, recall, and manipulate data for multi-step problem solving and statistical analysis. Finally, saving time for calculations will allow time for solving multi-step and more complex application problems.
