it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hello everyone! We are located right in the heart of the Bronx, extremely close to the Yankee Stadium. This site is a Title 1 school. The setting is a Monolingual classroom, which includes 1 general education teacher (myself) and 15 amazing little ones who are in-person. Most of my students speak different languages ( Spanish, Arabic, French & Creole). They are very energetic. According to the U.S. Department of Education, Title 1, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, provides financial assistance to local educational agencies and schools with high numbers or high percentages of students from low-income families to help ensure that all students meet challenging state academic standards. Science is such an engaging, important area for children to explore: Chemistry, Biology, Geology, or even Astronomy. There are a variety of science toys for kids that allow children to explore scientist tools and scientific concepts to ultimately prepare for high school science. With the magnifier center, sand timers, bugs, butterfly nursery, sorting kits, microscope, and other tools for science, made specifically with children in mind, exploring real science for kids will seem like nothing more than play. The best science for kids for 4 year olds and younger include kids science toys and tools that can easily be used anywhere, anytime. Items might include: magnifying glasses, microscope, hour glasses, insects, etc. My science/ math center is lacking and these tools will help my preschools explore science independently.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
