My students need two Samsung Chromebooks to access different online resources and tools in order to engage in lessons that address the Next Generation Science and Engineering standards.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very enthusiastic about school. They are hands-on learners, curious, active, and have a lot of imagination. My students are engaged daily in a rigorous, academic curriculum, which includes a high emphasis on STEM Learning. They live in a high poverty, metropolitan city and attend a Title I school. Our inner-city school lacks funding to access supplemental learning materials.
My students come to class on a daily basis and work diligently to overcome many challenges they face living in the inner city.
My students enjoy working cooperatively and display great creativity. Parents are constantly seeking the best possible educational opportunities for their children. Additionally, I believe children benefit from experiences that include discovery, exploration, awakening curiosity, and an appreciation of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. They appreciate being part of a community that shows they are cared for.
My Project
My students enjoy using computers to learn coding skills, do research, learn to type, practice reading, and learn more about topics that interest them.
Please help them use their creativity to problem solve issues that impact our lives through these Chromebooks!
They are eager to learn through technology.
They constantly ask when they are going to the computer lab. They will benefit greatly by having these Chromebooks available all the time in the classroom for use.
My students are excited to complete projects using technology. They will be better prepared to meet 21st-century skills demand by the daily use of technology in the classroom.
My students will work collaboratively to research issues affecting us in the real world. They will seek to find solutions to these issues through research and through the engineering model. They will attempt to construct models addressing problems we face and come up with solutions.
