Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach combination second and third grade class of 25 fun-loving, active students who are hardworking and eager to succeed and learn. Despite some of their struggles, they walk in every day with smiles on their faces, eager to learn and give everything they have. They motivate me to become a better teacher.
I want my students to have access to technology everyday.
I want to be able to differentiate my lessons to fit each and every one of their needs. I want to make sure that they have all they need and more when they leave my classroom. Each child comes from a unique background and often needs support. My class includes students that are gifted and talented, struggling readers, students with attention difficulties, and English Language Learners.
My Project
The two Acer Chromebooks I am requesting for my students will allow us to use online reading resources, eBooks, and literacy games. We can also find many books online that are about science topics we are learning in class. With these resources, my students will be able to select books that are at the just right reading level. Our students are our future so we must do everything in our power to help them learn about the importance of a reading and learning.
These Acer Chromebooks will increase the reading resources beyond the classroom library available daily to my students.
This project will allow students to access the online resources to be able to improve their reading skills as well as to learn about important topics that are key for them not only in school but in life.
Reading is more than a group of skills needed for daily living. Reading is a gift and an adventure to be loved!
