My Students

My amazing group of third graders are passionate about learning, especially when they are the ones problem solving and coaching each other. Partner work and teamwork across the curriculum brings out each child's strengths! My favorite overheard phrase is "What? It's time to go home already!".

The classroom is diverse, both culturally and socioeconomically.

They genuinely care about each other and recognize each other's strengths! A highlight of their day is when any adult walks in to take a look at what they are doing.

My Project

Help me give my students the STEAM group work atmosphere in which they will be able to be productive and relaxed.A key to motivation and a passion for Science and Math is an environment of cooperation. Students need to feel that working together is a productive way to problem solve.

The seating choices allow flexibility in forming work-groups in Science and Math while offering a bit of necessary personal space while still being part of a group.

The students will not have to sit on the floor unsupported, nor will they have to be dependent on standard school desks while conducting discoveries in Science and Math. The students will be able to easily locate their group anywhere in the classroom.
