Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First, we are in need of pencils, pens, and headphones for daily use. These are fundamental tools in our classroom, allowing students to complete assignments, participate in digital learning activities, and engage in discussions without distraction. Unfortunately, many students come to school without these supplies, and our current stock is running low. Having these materials readily available ensures that every student can focus on learning without barriers.

Additionally, I am requesting a class set of books for our next read-aloud.

Many of my students do not have books of their own, but I have successfully ignited their interest in reading. I want to foster this excitement by providing each student with a copy of our next class novel. Reading together as a class not only strengthens literacy skills but also builds a shared sense of community and engagement in literature.

For our upcoming science unit, I am requesting a few science kits. My students love science and learn best when they can engage in hands-on activities. These kits will allow them to explore key concepts through experiments, deepening their understanding and fostering a genuine curiosity for STEM subjects. Experiential learning makes a lasting impact, and these materials will help me provide an interactive and enriching science curriculum.

Lastly, I am requesting supplies for our classroom aquarium. Our turtle, Squirtle, is an important part of our classroom community. Caring for him teaches my students responsibility, empathy, and the importance of animal care. Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for Squirtle is crucial, and the tank cleaner will ensure that my students can continue learning about and caring for our classroom pet.
