Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In my class I like to teach beyond the book with hands-on-activities, but this can be expensive for me to have to buy materials to make this possible.
My students are a group of lively, creative seventh graders whom I love working with everyday!
Their eyes always light up when they hear we are having a lab or activity where they work in groups and it makes me very happy to bring these activities to them.
My Project
I would love to have bags of balloons to use in two lessons: one in which they measure lung capacity and another activity in which students make lung models. I also need PTC testing strips for a phenotype lab; a class set of rulers to use in the lab where students measuring lung capacity and a nervous system lab where students measure their rate of reaction. I also would love a blood pressure reading kit so my students can take their blood pressure during our cardiovascular system unit. My last science supply I am needing are sterile cotton tip applicators for when my students test sites for bacteria in Petri dishes.
