Science Stimulates!

My students need hands-on science activities such as "Let's Get Moving" activity mats and learning centers for color mixing, the five senses, and the weather, to stimulate their minds!

My Students

My current classroom materials are terrific for stimulating my students in the areas of literacy and math but I want to increase their interest in science too!

My students are at-risk pre-kindergarten children attending a public elementary school.

My class consists of regularly developing students as well as those with special needs. My students qualify for the pre-kindergarten program by showing a developmental need on a standardized developmental screening instrument. Many are already considered at age four to be behind their peers in their academic endeavors.

My Project

The requested materials will assist my children in gaining scientific knowledge as well as stimulating their interest in science. The materials will also encourage students to seek further information in regards to science and prepare them to be better school citizens with increased global knowledge as they enter kindergarten. I am requesting hands-on science related items to inspire my students in learning about colors, the 5 senses, and magnetism. I am also requesting "Let's Get Moving" activity mats and other learning centers that will help them learn about the weather and seasons.

I want to make sure my students are equal to their peers as they enter Kindergarten.

I also want to ensure that my students are prepared citizens with knowledge in many areas! It is important for my students to not just develop a love and interest in learning literacy and math but other areas of learning such as SCIENCE!
