My Students

My students come from a large Baltimore City Middle school that connects students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds and cultures. This year, my goal is to increase literacy in Science, provide supplies and incentives to keep students engaged as students in being successful during virtual and in school learning.

Providing students with books, supplies, and materials that focus on learning sparks excitement and curiosity.

Also, as students learn at home, increased student engagement and hands-on experiences continue to be learning goals and expectations. I seek to design a learning environment that meets the academic needs of students.

My students are inquisitive 7th-grade scientists open to learning and exploring, but many lack enthusiasm and engagement through hands-on experiences. My goal is to keep the momentum going virtually and provide students with a no-worry zone about materials, which is more likely to gain success.

My Project

Many of my students will come back to school after the summer and during a pandemic with many concerns and worries. My job is to make the transition to school seamless and help students feel confident and not stressed. A classroom with the needed supplies, pens, pencils, journals, and other learning aids contributes to students' success. For students that are learning at home, these materials will be delivered, and for students at school, these materials will be used for science writing, journaling, modeling, and investigation. Also, the reading materials will increase students' literacy thru reading Informational science text.
