This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 16 diverse preschool students in an inner-city school district. My students are a diverse group with many strengths and interest.
My students are creative, insightful, playful, and full of questions.
They love hands-on activities that they allow them to discover and explore new things independently. They love to discover new concepts through play, which allows them to develop higher level thinking skills.
Science is one of my student's favorite subjects because they can explore different materials and apply it to their own lives.
My Project
Having a variety of science materials and books in the classroom will help my students develop a love for learning science through play! Currently, my students only have a few materials to learn and explore science with. By donating to our project, you will help preschool students develop a love for learning science and exploring different science concepts through play.
With these materials, my students will be able to explore with tools such as magnets, magnifying glasses, tweezers, test tubes, and eye droppers.
These tools will allow my students to explore the world around them, and help incorporate science and exploration into all of our studies throughout the year.
