This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As Bill Nye the Science Guy so often told showed me, "Science Rules." Yet my students do not have the same opportunity to be exposed to Bill Nye the Science Guy and for him to make science come alive for them the way it did for me. Bill Nye can show them that science is so much more than books.
My students are 5th graders in an urban school system.
My students are amazing. They are energetic and enthusiastic about school and curious about the world around them. They are interested in science and want to learn more. They constantly come to me with questions.
My Project
Providing a deeper understanding of science for my students will enable them to truly learn to love science. They can grasp both the importance and relevance of science to their daily lives and to the world around them. Providing them such an experience will make science come alive to them.
Bill Nye the Science Guy has been teaching generations of students that "Science Rules." He has continued to show students that science is captivating, interesting, and most importantly, part of their daily lives.
Having a set of Bill Nye the Science Guy DVDs to use to enrich my students learning will make science come alive to them. Science will be more than just words on a page. It will be a sensory experience.
