My Project

My students are middle school-aged kids that are very social, moody, innovative, impressionable and attracted to color. My goal this year is to adapt to the new schedule of 90-minute blocks by incorporating hands-on rotation stations. I have 6 table groups set up for an active way of learning. I would also like to include the Blended Learning technique that I have used for four years now. The color-coded table trays and caddies would create a more organized way of housing the different supplies needed for a particular activity. Whether it be pencils, rulers, or thermometers, these containers are keeping the science classroom organized and flowing with order. My students love to move around and having clipboards is a sure way to complete work while looking like a "Scientist." My students enjoy using the dry-erase boards but have complained that I do not have enough erasers. Having an organized class setting is extremely crucial to stations. Middle schoolers appreciate a classroom that is bright and attractive and is very much conducive to learning.

My goal for this project is to use these supplies for our lab work and everyday learning in science.

I want my students to take pride in their science classroom and appreciate my classroom technique. I want students to develop a love for science with every activity presented in my class. With the idea in mind that "Science is Fun," students will appreciate stations and group activities in science this year. Most of all clean-up would be easier and quicker!

What makes my students special is the authentic personalities that emerge when science became fun! My students are not afraid to express their likes and dislikes about school so transforming my classroom space into an innovative learning environment is my goal this year.
