My Project

When you think about students who strongly desire to be the best, think about my students. They are inspiring individuals who come from places that aren't always ideal, in Youngstown, OH. Adversity is the foundation of the life they stand on, but they persevere.

Our students struggle with poverty, homelessness, employment, transportation, and language barriers, but despite all of this, they show up to school.

Our school administrators and teachers work hard to ensure our students receive everything they need. Every student gets a complimentary breakfast and lunch daily. In addition to providing the basic needs of our students, we try to incorporate a variety of social-emotional interventions daily. This helps my students with daily challenges, such as self-esteem, bullying, and communicating their emotions.

We are in need of pencils and erasers to help bring our lessons to life. I am also requesting materials to make our classroom feel more comfortable, such as, decorations, encouraging signs, and other items. With these items, we can make the classroom feel like home.
