My students need art supplies for the illustration of rock cycles. The collection of rocks and minerals will help my students have hands on activities with the rocks.
A typical day in my classroom consists of writing interactive notes in their notebooks and learning about the corresponding concepts. We often have a hands on activity that usually results in spending my personal money. I recently found out about this website and am ecstatic.
A lot of my students are extremely poor, some are even homeless.
I am an inclusion teacher and a lot of my students have trouble concentrating for too long. Having hands on activities not only engages them, but gives them a kinesthetic opportunity to learn. My students really love art or any type of drawing.
My Project
My students will be learning about the rock cycle and minerals. They will be doing some exploratory observations by recognizing the types of rocks in the kits. They will also be able to draw the rock cycle. They will be playing games as reviews for tests and finally have some cleaning supplies for other hands on projects.
My project will make a difference because my students will be able to see first hand what kinds of rocks there are in the world.
I hope that these projects will make my students engaged and more successful on their assessments.
