Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Education is the most powerful weapon, which you can use to change the world each and every day. I am a special education teacher servicing the needs of individuals with social and emotional behaviors in grades 1st through 12th.
My students are smart, creative, and hardworking individuals.
My students are very special to me and deserve the best. They are superstars and excel every day with smiles on their faces.
Science is a very important subject but is under-studied in school so I'm requesting materials so that my students can have access to concrete hands-on material such as the Apple iPads that will expand their vocabulary and understanding of key concepts and skills.
The materials that are related to this project are very important because they relate to ways in which the students can navigate and enjoy the many different ways science can be fun and enjoyable.
The materials requested will help the students learn about
ways in which we can study the periodic table of elements, physical science, life science and earth science. This will help in discovering the way science works throughout the world and exciting and accessible experiences.
My Project
Help me give my student’s access to learning through reading science NGSS BOOKS to aide their learning.
I am a teacher at an inner city school that is a Therapeutic Day Program.
This is a school for students with emotional disabilities. The students require small group instruction with behavioral support and therapeutic supports.
The BOOKS will result in students to practice SCIENCE concepts in a more engaging manner. Students enjoy playing and using the SCIENCE MATERIALS TO LEARN.
These books/ project will help to stop the disengaged students by giving them enough materials to be engaged in the learning and reading process in science class. It will also build positive relationship between class room students and build peer relationships.
Applying science BOOKS will help students to be exposed to the concepts that I am teaching and allow me to differentiate the student’s work based on the common core standard that they need to be exposed too. This will allow their work to be private and reduce frustration and negativity towards the concepts. I also feel that adding BOOKS will expose students to different form of the math concept and will expose the students in another form of learning.
