My students need construction/card stock paper and markers to create their work and the glue to put it in their interactive notebook page, which acts as an ongoing portfolio.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a veteran teacher moving to a new school to teach this year, I know what it takes to prepare my students to be college and career ready. My students use interactive notebooks, which acts as an ongoing portfolio. They also engage in hands-on labs and higher-level thinking projects.
My students are very family oriented where they carry the "aloha," Hawaiian spirit by being helpful, caring, and thoughtful young adults.
They come from different ethnic backgrounds, family situations, and challenges. With all of this in mind as a teacher, I use a lot of group work to help promote higher-level thinking where students are challenged to express their understanding creatively through project-based learning. My school has about 750 students, grades 6th-8th and uses block scheduling. My room is open to my students whenever they need me; I teach my student to be proactive and independent in order to guide them to be successful, life-long learners.
My Project
Students will have access to the printer to make a copy of student/teacher examples to help them with their assignment. By scanning student work, I can upload and present it on a projector for my students to see better when they share as a whole class. The glue and markers will be stored in the supply boxes placed on the table to allow students access to the supplies needed to organize and construct their interactive notebook. The construction paper will be used for student-made foldable to help reinforce vocabulary and create poster presentations during project-based assessments. The dry erase markers will allow students to come up to the board and teach/learn with each other, the post-it poster paper will allow information and visuals to stay up for students to use.
Your donation will allow my students to build and express their understanding in multiple ways.
The printer will help students recognize how to use technology effectively and the other supplies will be used to make the most out of each class. Having fun learning at a challenging level is my goal each year. Thank you for your time and consideration!
