This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This engineering event for 2024 focuses on students constructing wind turbine blades to affix to a CD in order to generate the maximum voltage they can in a standardized testing setup. There is also a written test students take in order to gain the maximum score possible and demonstrate their knowledge about wind power generation.
This STEM event is back for 2024 after a brief hiatus, and is a prime example of how students can model a real-world apparatus on a small scale for analysis and learning.
The fans and meters are needed to test student turbine designs under standardized conditions which will be used at the competition coming up on March 2, 2024. As the Event Supervisor, I will also use the equipment to test the devices of not only my students, but all other schools at the competition.
