Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I will be teaching a first grade with a wide range of multicultural learners. Our learning targets for next year include that all students will be reading at or above grade level by the end of the year. Our school district is utilizing Orton Gillingham to reach these lofty goals. These strategies include multi-sensory tactile modalities to aid in memorization.
Research shows students excel when using the Orton Gillingham approach.
Unfortunately it is very expensive to provide all of these things, and my classroom budget doesn't cover all of it. I can't wait to use these items in my classroom with your help.
