Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham Plus course will help me to effectively apply the components to literacy during my reading instruction sessions.
This course is based on the principles of Structured Literacy.
Therefore, I will better understand the structure and foundations of the English language as well as the research behind the Science of Reading. I will also expand my knowledge of how to assess and teach students in all three tiers of RTI as well as students with dyslexia.
After taking this course, I will be better equipped to evaluate and teach students in phonological skills, phonics/word recognition, spelling, writing, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
