This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is a Title I school with a diverse population of students. The large majority of my students come from low income families. Despite the many challenges my students face on a daily basis, they have a strong desire to learn, grow, and be the best they can be.
It is my greatest passion and calling to help students be kind and loving and to develop a love of learning and reading.
I also have a strong desire to create a welcoming environment which promotes cooperation, collaboration, critical thinking skills and an excited feeling of coming to school everyday. I have converted my classroom to use flexible seating. I strive to create a comfortable environment for all styles of learners.
Once you get kids excited about learning, you give them a lifelong gift. I teach skills that will last a lifetime like hard work and critical thinking.
My school encourages a growth mindset and strives to have a strong community where everyone feels welcomed. I want to support my students in their learning by providing a more comfortable and inviting classroom.
My Project
I have recently been informed about the science of reading. These new teaching strategies have allowed me to become a better teacher. I have a renewed stress in phonics instruction and want all my students to be given great instruction so that they become confident readers. These materials will help my students practice their reading skills in a fun and engaging way.
Science of reading teaching strategies are so effective.
My students will really enjoy these materials to reinforce their phonics skills. I am excited to share these materials with my students!
