My Project
My goal as a teacher is to create lifelong learners who find joy in reading. Florida has passed laws limiting students' access to books in the classroom. Students need physical, high-interest books to practice their new phonics skills.
Your donation to this project will support the development of lifelong readers by showing students the joy that comes from reading books.
The books in this series are decodable for most first-grade students. The first book set includes only one letter per page. Students make the letter sound, then find as many objects as they can in the illustration that begin with that letter sound. This will allow all readers to experience success with physical books. The other kits in this series are decodable for my students at the beginning of the year. Students will want to continue reading when they feel joy and pride in reading this series.
