Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is located in Western Pennsylvania near the city of Pittsburgh. I teach third grade in a school district where many of our students struggle financially. Many of them do not have access to computers or other types of technology. I have twenty-four students in my class. Our teachers provide a strong sense of community for our students. We are in need of head phones for our students to use the laptops and organizational materials. These materials will help keep our students focused when using the laptops.

Our students are curious, enthusiastic, and creative!

They are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge. They enjoy spending time using different types of technology.

My Project

The science back packs will be used during our Family Science Night. Throughout the event, kids will make and take a variety of science experiments and activities. They can use their new back packs to carry all of their supplies they collect throughout the evening.

These back packs would be a perfect addition to our Family Science Night.

Students will be proud to carry the science themed packs. They will be even more proud of their science projects and activities. Science is such an important part of our everyday curriculum and Family Science Night is a great way to get the kids excited for science.
